I’m not dead! Just the worst at blogging. I recently finished this illustration of my friend Logan’s head – I haven’t worked in Illustrator for awhile, so that was fun. Vectors! Logan is a drummer who recently launched his website, and wants to be friends with you  - just be cool, okay? Be cool.

Also, my friend Mark recently cleaned up my hacky WordPress theme code for this blog, fixed up the commenting section, added facebook/twitter share buttons, and generally just improved everything, which I am quite excited about. Thanks so much, Mark!!

I’ve been bummed about the ratio of (boring) work to summer activities recently, but this weekend I spent some quality time on the Cyclone and Wonder Wheel, and my friend showed me the former bar (now a church) where the Gambino crime family used to chop up bodies before dumping them in the river, then also the river body-dumping spot. And I had ice cream.

The best flavors of ice cream:

My cousin Carrie of the aforementioned bridal shower sent me this photo of herself today (ok like 1/5 of herself) wearing a wrap bracelet I gave her, coordinated perfectly with her chevron-print skirt. I remade this wrap bracelet a few times til I was happy with it and here’s where we ended up – it can also be worn as a long necklace, but I like it best this way.

My cousin’s family (comprised of mostly ladies) has spot-on taste in textile prints – I’d go on facebook and make a collage of wardrobe photos to prove it if I had time, and that sure would be riveting blog content for you, wouldn’t it. The police got a warrant and just crashed into my house. When they turned up at my door I was a real smart-ass, I refused to let them in, so then they came back with a warrant. At the time I was I living at Dr. Phil’s house on Alpine. It was an awful place. I was intending to flip it, but it was decorated exactly like you’d think Dr. Phil would decorate his house.

Lunch was at work at The Daily Show. Normally we have a catered lunch, where our caterers find every single way to make tilapia horrible. You might say, “How can you do that? Tilapia is already horrible.” But they find a way.
