I made this for a flyer for a Halloween event flyer in October. Nothing fancy, but fun to look at.
Things that are good on the internet right now:
• A Cocktail Party In the Street: An Interview With Alan Stillman, the guy who started T.G.I. Friday’s (via The Best Time of the Day).
There were very few women there. That was pretty typical of the New York bar scene at the time.
The other thing is that my timing was exquisite, because I opened T.G.I. Friday’s the exact year the pill was invented. I happened to hit the sexual revolution on on the head, and the result was that, without really intending it, I became the founder of the first singles bar.
• The Web is a Customer Service Medium via The Morning News (a long-ish read).
But the web is not just some kind of magic all-absorbing meta-medium. It’s its own thing. And like other media it has a question that it answers better than any other. That question is:
Why wasn’t I consulted?
• This Barry McGee video on booooooom.
• I laughed so hard when I saw this title that my roommate asked me what I was looking at. Ed Panar’s ‘Animals That Saw Me‘ photo series via Rackk and Ruin.
• Janeane Garofalo’s new standup on Netflix Watch Instantly. I guess the ‘good thing’ part is dependent on you having both a Netflix subscription and an interest in Janeane, but I have those things, so there we are.
• PORTLANDIA! Portlandia Portlandia Portlandia.
